The All India Democratic Women’s Association strongly condemns the order given to the Hindi News Channel NDTV India to go off air on the 9^th of November 2016. The order has ostensibly been given for its coverage on the Pathankot attack, when in fact this particular channel’s coverage was no different from other TV channels.
AIDWA unequivocally supports the demand of Muslim women for an abolition of the instant arbitrary triple talaq.

We strongly condemn the atrocious public statement made by the BJP UP President about Ms. Mayawati a dalit women leader from UP and also a Member of Parliament. The statement exposes the BJP's hypocrisy of the BJP Government in coming up with various slogans schemes and policies for empowering women. AIDWA stands in solidarity with Pakistan’s women who reacted strongly to the statement made by Pakistan clergy “Beat wives lightly” as a violation of fundamental right of women. We also condemn similar derogatory remarks by people holding public offices in India. We protested when the WCD Minister made such remark in context of marital rape not being applied in Indian families. We also protested against attack on Section 498A which criminalises domestic violence. Indian women today are experiencing similar situation in the country.
